Data Analyst Position

The Tee Lab at UCSF is seeking a highly motivated Research Data Analyst to join our multidisciplinary team investigating language, bilingualism, and neurodegenerative disease across diverse populations.

Our lab leads multiple NIH-funded national and international collaborations focused on developing culturally and linguistically informed cognitive and digital speech biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease, Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), and Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA). We integrate behavioral, speech, neuroimaging, and plasma biomarker data to better understand how language structure and language experience shape vulnerability and resilience in dementia.
This position is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about multilingual data science, neuroscience, and reproducible analytics in a mission-driven research environment.

The Tee Lab is based at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC) within the Department of Neurology. Our research spans:

  • Multilingual speech biomarker development
  • Cross-linguistic models of neurodegeneration
  • Bilingualism and cognitive reserve
  • Multisite harmonization across the U.S., India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Europe
  • Integration of MRI, plasma biomarkers (e.g., p-tau, NfL), and digital language measures
We are also affiliated with the international INCLUDE Network promoting cross-linguistic dementia research.

Position Summary

The Research Data Analyst will participate in multiple multicenter studies focused on:

  • Developing multilingual cognitive and speech-based assessment tools
  • Modeling disease trajectories across diagnostic groups
  • Integrating multimodal datasets (speech, cognition, MRI, biomarkers)
  • Building reproducible pipelines for multisite research
This role is central to ensuring scalable, harmonized, and scientifically rigorous data analysis across international collaborations.
