Asian Cohort for Alzheimer's Disease (ACAD)

Asian American and Canadian (ASAC) populations have long been under-represented in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research. Our study, the Asian Cohort for Alzheimer’s Disease (ACAD) is the first large US and Canada cohort to study genetic and non-genetic AD risk factors specifically for older ASAC persons. The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) is one of ACAD’s largest recruitment sites for Chinese American participants.

Participation in ACAD involves:
-Interviews and assessments about your brain health, memory and thinking abilities (3-4 hours in total)
-Saliva or blood sample collection

Eligibility requirements:
-60 years old or older
-Identify as Chinese, Chinese American, or Chinese Canadian
-Lives in the United States or Canada
-Can speak English, Mandarin and/or Cantonese (at least one language). Study activities can be conducted in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Participation can be entirely virtual (via Zoom meetings). Please contact study coordinator, James Qian, at  or 415-514-0529
