Joanne (Joe) was born in Taishan, China and moved to San Francisco, California at a young age. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology at the University of California, San Diego. As an undergraduate researcher in the Zheng Lab at the UCSD School of Medicine, she focused on spinal cord regeneration in mouse models. Currently, she works at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the MULTIVERSE project, engaging with participants who speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Toishanese, and English. With a longstanding interest in caring for geriatric populations, particularly those facing language barriers, Joe is gaining valuable clinical experience and remains committed to a future career in medicine.
